Pilot Games' Duel in the Dark
This excellent and accessible game of British bombing raids over Germany in 1943
is a cross between a traditional wargame and Euro game; to my mind, not a bad thing!
Two games were played to conclusion at the meeting, the first, of 2 night's duration,
using only the basic rules, the other, lasting 3 nights, using all the rules, the most
significant of which is the possibility of weather changing during the duration of the game;
the German player is also able to deploy a much greater variety a defensive installations,
such as barrage balloons, civil bunkers and smoke generators.
Both games ended in British victories, albeit, on each occasion, by a narrow margin.
Splendid fun!
